Production Casting Policy

La Jolla Playhouse is a LORT Theatre and hires actors who are members of Actors' Equity Association. Actors are hired on a show-by-show basis during the season and auditions for individual shows are by invitation only. If you would like to submit your headshot and resume for our attention, please send them to La Jolla Playhouse, Attn: Casting, P.O. Box 12039, La Jolla, CA 92039. Depending on our needs, we will either keep your information on file at the Playhouse or forward it to our casting agents.

Local Auditions

La Jolla Playhouse holds annual local general auditions in the spring. The 2009 general auditions have passed. Please check back periodically for local audition notices for individual shows.

Type of Actor(s): Male & Female Equity (AEA) or non-Equity, LOCAL (must live or have housing within 50 miles of La Jolla).

Audition Date: Tuesday, January 19th, 2010 10am - 6pm. Auditions held at La Jolla Playhouse, 2910 La Jolla Village Dr. La Jolla, CA 92037, APPOINTMENT REQUIRED. Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, January 20th.

Play Submissions

Thank you for your interest in submitting new work for consideration by La Jolla Playhouse. We accept full-length scripts submitted by literary agents and 10-page samples from Southern California resident playwrights only.

If you wish to have your work returned, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your submission.
